Are the real estate listings online as good as the Multiple Listing Service that reactors use?

Online listings will always vary in their source of listings and in the content they provide for free. In some of the online real estate listings, you may see some of the listings, but not all of them, until and unless you become a member, and then you will be allowed to see all the listings and where as the other sites are free and show just what is in the local MLS for the area you are searching in. And the rest of the real estate sites will let sellers make their own listings, which may not be seen anywhere else.

Are the listings shown online currently available?

In most cases the real estate listed on net will be in the market. But the website can also show such properties that have already been sold. This is because of the lag time it takes to update websites.

Some real estate agents, also keep old listings posted, even if sold so that you just call them. If the offer is too good or too cheap, it is possible that it has already been sold and this offer is just the bait to make you call them.

If I find a home that I like online, how do I arrange to see it?

Most of the online real estate websites will either charge you to become a member and then give you the phone number. Where as the others will be part of a regular real estate brokerage in the local area, and will tell you about a agent and that will take you to show the site. Some websites try and send  you to some local real estate agent and then ask the agent for a referral fee.

How do online real estate searches work?

Once you find a good real estate site that you like, you can then begin your hunts for property or homes. You will be asked some questions such as the cities and countries you are interested in, the price range, type of property, number of bedrooms, desired features, and other information. The search engine will then show you the listings that closely match your criteria. And then out of that listings you can search for the one that you like, and then you can go to the second base and go to see the site with some agent or owner, the rest process you know.
