Buying And Selling Stock Photos: A Primer
I know just how frustrating it can be to have the right royalty free image and then buy the rights to use it and I even know some photographers who have pretty much given up on trying to sell their images because it's just not worth the hassle.
What we need is some sort of place where we can easily stock, buy and sell the photographs. Keeping in view this situation some intelligent people have launched some sites on which we can easily display, buy and sell images without much hassle.
But now the problem is that it is difficult to find the right site , all the major stock photography sites are bent towards publishers who buy large numbers of photos at one time and do not mind paying large sums of money. Even the smaller sites try to lock you in with the subscriptions. The subscriptions can be a real good deal, but not if are looking for just a photo or two for a web site or some newsletter.
Sometimes it seems that they all have the same images, It's quite frustrating to spend all that time searching through all the different sites just to find the same kind of things all over. A photo market should just like a farmers market or a flea market, always should have fresh and new products and a large wide variety of stuff to pick from.
Now to surprise you photo markets do exist, and I prefer them to the conventional stock photo places. If I was a buyer I would have appreciated if I was given an opportunity to be able to look at images from many different professional or semi-professional photographers, or even talented people, when I wanted to buy an image.
I would also want instant gratification, which to me would have meant being able to download the photos instantly, without even buying a subscription first, and by using PayPal, so that I won't need to enter my credit card data every time i would have bought a photo.
How does a photo market work if you are planning to sell photographs? Again, it's very much similar too a farmers market where sellers buy their space to sell their goods. They do that because for small merchants it's cheaper to rent a place than to buy their own store, and the market is the place where people go to buy their things.
Same ways, for a photographers also it's cheaper to rent some space at a photo market where the people come to purchase photographs than to create their own website and then advertise for them in order to generate traffic. How much to vendors pay? That very much depends on how much space they rent, or rather how many images they want to have for sale at one time.
The main key to a photo market is to keep it simple. To purchase a photograph you register so the market will know that you will respect its terms and conditions of use, but you only pay for those images which you purchase and download and to sell the images, you register yourself as a seller and then you decide how many pictures you want to sell at one time. The rest is between the buyer and the seller.
Like in any other kind of a market, the vendors decide how much they want to charge for the item, and buyers can then decide if they want buy the item and pay that much price.
A stock photo market is perfect place for you if you want to quickly pick a picture or three for some project of yours, or, as a seller, if you're good with your camera and want to earn some extra cash, this is the perfect place for you.
The photo paper roll has universal compatibility with dye and pigment inkjet system. The high quality inkjet paper has been developed with a PE backing which eliminates moisture transfer through the base and hence protects the prints.
